We represent food producers as their commercial agent — finding buyers, qualifying them, and bringing deals. Grocery, frozen and pet food lines, across the Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe, and export markets beyond.
Lines we represent
We represent producers rather than holding a catalogue, so what we can offer follows the mandates we hold. Everything below is ambient unless marked.
- Preserved vegetables
- Canned, jarred and pickled
- Tomato and sauces
- Passata, paste, prepared sauces
- Grains and pulses
- Bulk and packed
- Confectionery
- Sugar and bakery
- Frozen
- Vegetables and prepared lines
- Pet food and treats
- Raw, frozen and ambient — separate regime, see below
If you need a line we do not list, ask. We will tell you honestly whether we represent someone who makes it, rather than take the enquiry and go looking.
Pet food and treats
We represent producers of raw and frozen pet food, including B.A.R.F. lines, and pet treats. These sit under EU animal by-product and feed legislation rather than food law — a separate regime, separate registration, separate documentation. The producer holds those approvals and we verify them before representing anyone. We do not treat pet lines as an extension of the grocery book.
Where we work
The producers we represent are in the Balkans and Central and Eastern Europe. Their buyers are across Europe, and in export markets including the Middle East. We will look at other origins and destinations — ask.
How we work
We work only as a commercial agent. We do not buy and resell, we do not take title to goods, and we do not trade on our own account.
- The producer is the seller Our principal contracts with the buyer and invoices them directly. Their specification, their certification, their terms of sale. We state that we act as agent on every document we issue.
- We are paid by the producer Commission on their invoice, under a written agency agreement covering territory, rate and the customers we introduce.
This is a deliberate limit. An agent who also trades on his own book has an interest in which deals he brings you. We do not have one.
For buyers
Why not go direct to the producer? A fair question, and the honest answer depends on how you are set up.
- We cost you nothing You contract with the producer and pay the producer's price. Our commission comes from their side, never on top of yours. There is no margin between you and the factory because we never own the goods.
- One conversation instead of five If you are building a category, dealing with five producers in four countries means five specifications, five payment terms and five sets of paperwork. We consolidate that.
- We speak the producer's language Literally, across the region. Most production in our sourcing markets does not run an export desk in English, and a specification agreed in the factory's own language is a specification that holds.
- The supplier is checked before you see an offer Legal identity, VAT registration, food or feed business registration, certification scope and expiry — verified against the actual product, not taken on trust. You are not the one discovering that a certificate lapsed.
If going direct is better for you on a given line, we will say so.
For producers
If you produce and want distribution you do not yet have, we can represent you: finding and qualifying buyers, running the commercial conversation, and bringing you deals — while you remain the seller, keep the customer on your own paper, and set your own price.
We work to a written agency agreement covering territory, commission basis and a registered list of the customers we introduce. We prefer that documented at the outset rather than discovered later.
Before we introduce anyone
We verify both sides first. For a producer: legal identity against the company register, VAT, food or feed business registration, and certification scope and expiry checked against the actual product rather than the company. An expired or out-of-scope certificate is the most common thing we find.
Schemes we routinely check: BRCGS, IFS, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, and organic and halal certification where the destination market requires it.
For a buyer: legal identity, VAT, and whether the volume they describe is plausible for their size. We would rather lose an introduction than put a producer in front of someone who cannot pay.
One signed and dated specification defines conformity. We make sure inspection point, method, claim window and remedy are agreed in writing before shipment, not after a problem. Because we never take title, traceability and food or feed obligations sit with the producer, where the goods and records are.

We never collect payment for goods. You pay the producer, on their invoice, to their bank details. Any request to pay Korab Trading for a shipment is fraudulent, whatever it appears to be attached to. Our own bank details, for commission, are never changed by email either — if you receive a message appearing to change them, confirm by telephone before paying.
